Lynn Ovaska is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Los Alamos, New Mexico, who balances her clinical practice with a long-standing career as an educator. Alongside providing therapy, she has been a high school social studies and psychology teacher at Los Alamos High School since 1999. After thirty years in the classroom, she now offers her clinical skills to clients in her private counseling office. Lynn earned her Master of Arts in School and Professional Counseling from New Mexico Highlands University in 2016 and her Bachelor's in Broad Field Social Studies Education from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1996. She earned her LPCC in May 2026. Lynn is affiliated with Essential Self Counseling and was under supervision of Tom Steward, LCSW for four years. She serves clients of all ages but has extensive, specialized experience with adolescents and young adults due to her decades in education. Lynn's clinical focus includes anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and relationship issues. She primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to empower clients and help them address past issues, understand emotions, overcome life obstacles, and become their true selves.
