I am a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) under the supervision of Christa Rupar, LPC (2020043212). I have five years of experience working in the helping professions, including a role in advocacy for sexual trauma survivors, as well as experience working with neurodivergent populations. As a therapist, I have experience working with individuals and couples seeking counseling for a number of reasons such as processing past trauma, relationship difficulties, and managing symptoms of anxiety and depression. My approach to counseling is integrative, with an emphasis on somatic and holistic care. I believe that you have to work with both the mind and body for healing and growth to occur. My approach to therapy is relational and trauma informed. That means that we will absolutely talk about the difficult things, but I will also use humor, empathy, and genuine human connection to make that experience feel safe. I want to help my clients begin to understand their nervous systems and their response to trauma and stress. I work often with individuals who have experienced sexual, religious, or childhood trauma. I utilize EMDR, an evidence based modality, to help clients reprocess traumatic experiences. I have experience working with the LGBTQ+ population, and I want you to know you are more than welcome in my office. Additionally, I work often with couples who are wanting to create healthy and happy relationships. I have training in the Gottman Method and utilize it during couples counseling. It is my goal that the therapy space I provide will be welcoming for everyone. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and it’s important to find a therapist you’re comfortable with. If you have questions about any part of the process, please reach out! I would be happy to talk with you and answer any questions you may have.
