Introduction

Mae is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) specializing in trauma, PTSD, addictions, substance use, depression, and anxiety. She believes that meaningful therapy begins with a strong therapeutic relationship one built on trust, empathy, respect, and collaboration. Her approach is grounded in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to work toward meaningful change. Her path to becoming a therapist was shaped by her own personal journey. Experiences and challenges during her formative years left her with what she describes as a scarred childhood. Through her own healing, she came to recognize three powerful truths: The importance of healing , The profound impact of mental and emotional health, And her desire to help others navigate their own journeys toward healing and growth. She has extensive experience working with individuals from diverse communities, cultures, and backgrounds. She works with individuals who may be navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship challenges, life transitions, or other emotional difficulties. She takes a culturally sensitive approach and recognizes that each person's experiences, values, relationships, and cultural background shape how they understand themselves and the world around them. Her therapeutic approach draws from evidence-based modalities including EMDR, Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She integrates these approaches based on each client's unique needs, goals, and readiness for change rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. Her goal is to help clients move beyond simply managing their challenges and toward developing greater self-awareness, resilience, and confidence. She believes therapy should ultimately help individuals strengthen the tools and insight they need to navigate life with greater independence. She welcomes feedback throughout the therapeutic process and views the work as a collaborative partnership in which the client's goals and needs remain central. For her, one of the greatest victories is transforming difficult experiences into opportunities for growth, purpose, and meaningful change. As she has experienced in her own journey, healing does not mean the absence of pain - it means developing the resilience to move forward with greater strength and intention. "The greatest triumphs of therapy are not found in the absence of pain, but in the presence of resilience."
