Introduction

You may look like you have everything together, but inside you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected. Many of my clients are navigating tension between cultural identities, honoring family values while figuring out who they are. This often shows up as guilt, people-pleasing, identity conflicts, or struggles with family expectations. I specialize in culturally responsive therapy for people from Muslim, South Asian, and Middle Eastern (SWANA) backgrounds across Texas. Many of my clients are immigrants, children of immigrants, or people navigating bicultural identities, family expectations, and intergenerational trauma. I understand the complexities of growing up in collectivist cultures and navigating faith, culture, and intergenerational expectations. Therapy is a space to explore these dynamics safely, strengthen your sense of self, and build healthier boundaries and relationships. I am a South Asian Muslim Licensed Professional Counselor and adjunct professor, committed to culturally responsive, trauma-informed care. I provide individual and family therapy via telehealth across Texas, supporting clients with anxiety, identity conflicts, family stress, and the emotional challenges of immigrant and bicultural experiences. _______________________________________________________________________________________ MEDIA I am passionate about spreading awareness and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health for the South Asian, SWANA, and Muslim communities so people don't suffer in silence and get the support they need and deserve. I am interested in participating in speaking engagements, webinars, and podcasts. In the Media: I have been interviewed about mental health for several articles, news segments, radio shows, and podcasts. I enjoy doing speaking engagements at universities and community centers. I continue to spread awareness on my social media account on Instagram (@mentalhealthwithmaliha) so people can learn healthier ways of living for not only themselves but their families. _______________________________________________________________________________________ To schedule your appointment today click the “Get Started” button!
