Most of the men I work with are in the thick of a divorce: considering one, living through it, or a few years out and finding the work isn't finished. Most are between their late 30s and their 60s, and many have been married for a decade or two. I also see men ending marriages of twenty-five or thirty years, which is sometimes called gray divorce. Many are fathers, which adds another layer of weight. You're competent. You've handled hard things by thinking them through, and this one isn't yielding to that. You've read about it, thought about it, talked about it, and you're still stuck. You're not looking for a guru. You want a collaborator who will engage honestly with what you're facing and help you move. I also work with women, and with adults in other hard transitions, ADHD and autism. Divorce is the center of my practice. My style is warm, pragmatic, and direct — I don't nod along. I listen closely, give honest feedback, and keep sessions pointed at what matters to you. I won't ask you to perform vulnerability. I draw on internal family systems, psychodynamic theory, and family-systems thinking. I see adults anywhere in Rhode Island and Washington, by video.
