Beyond the universal struggles of navigating adolescence, the limitations I encountered with identifying and acknowledging my feelings—along with the various mental health struggles I saw in the world—motivated me to learn more to help people through those experiences. I first studied psychology and then clinical mental health counseling, and I've continued learning, counseling, and advocating for my clients' mental health ever since. As a therapist, I aim to create a safe, supportive environment for clients, both in-person and virtual, where they feel empowered to discuss difficulties, acknowledge and accept their feelings, and be open‑minded about solutions. During our sessions, I'll give you tools to support positive changes, such as building confidence and finding a sense of belonging. Through experiential activities like expressive arts, Sandtray, tabletop games (e.g., Dungeons & Dragons, Ubuntu cards, etc.), and mindfulness techniques, I encourage people to connect with their emotions, thoughts, and bodily sensations. These help people discover their strengths and develop better coping skills, therefore, empowering them to achieve their goals while navigating challenges. In addition to my years of experience and training, and as a proud Black Queer woman, I also bring a deep understanding and empathy for the diverse struggles and triumphs people of color and LGBTQ+ communities face. In other words, I have the expertise to help you through various situations.
