Introduction

______________________________________________________________________________ WELCOME! ______________________________________________________________________________ I'm really glad you're here. Most of the people I work with are used to being the "responsible one," the high achiever, the one others rely on. From the outside, things look fine— sometimes even really good. But internally? It can feel like anxiety, pressure, overthinking, or just being completely exhausted from holding it all together. Therapy gives you a place where you don't have to perform, push through, or pretend you're okay. You get to slow down, make sense of what's going on, and start feeling more like the person you want to. ______________________________________________________________________________ A LITTLE ABOUT ME ______________________________________________________________________________ I'm Mari Sinatra, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience helping teens, young adults, and families through life's harder seasons. I specialize in working with people who are high functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed on the inside. You might be someone who is driven and used to pushing through— but underneath that you're anxious, lonely, or quietly exhausted. A lot of the people I work with are used to being the one others rely on— the responsible one, the capable one. They keep going, figure things out, and hold everything together... even when it comes at a cost. My background includes working with anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts in both residential and outpatient settings. I'm trained in EMDR, DBT, and Trauma-Focused CBT, and use an Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed approach to help clients understand themselves on a deeper level, rather than just manage symptoms. My style is warm, honest, and collaborative. I'll support you— but I'll also gently challenge patterns that are keeping you stuck. ______________________________________________________________________________ SUPPORT FOR TEENS ______________________________________________________________________________ Being a teen today is intense. There's pressure to succeed, fit in, keep up, and somehow manage emotions that can feel overwhelming or confusing. I help teens make sense of what they're feeling— whether it shows up as anxiety, shutdown, perfectionism, irritability, "I don't even know what's wrong." In our work, teens will learn how to: - Learn how to manage anxiety without shutting down or avoiding - Build real confidence (not just "fake it" confidence) - Understand their emotions instead of feeling controlled by them - Navigate friendships, identity, and social pressure with more clarity ...so they can feel more steady, more capable, and more in control of themselves. ______________________________________________________________________________ GUIDANCE FOR PARENTS ______________________________________________________________________________ Parenting can be incredibly rewarding. It can also feel like walking a tightrope— especially when your child is struggling. You might be walking on eggshells, second-guessing your approach, or wondering if you're "getting it wrong." You're not alone in that. I help parents to better understand what's underneath their child's behavior and respond in ways that actually improve connection, instead of increasing tension. Together, we'll focus on how to: - Communicate in ways your child can actually hear - Understand what's underneath behaviors - Set limits with confidence - Stay steady and regulated, even when your child is not - Role-model a well-balanced life ...so you can feel more confident in your parenting— and more connected to your child. ______________________________________________________________________________ EMPOWERMENT FOR YOUNG ADULTS ______________________________________________________________________________ Young adulthood can feel very confusing. You're expected to make big decisions about your life— while still figuring out who you are. You might feel stuck, disconnected, or caught in cycles of overthinking and self-doubt. In our work together, you'll develop the ability to: - Make decisions with more confidence (and less spiraling) - Set boundaries without guilt or overexplaining - Manage anxiety, overthinking, and emotional burnout - Reconnect with who you are— not just who you think you "should" be ...so you can move forward with clarity, direction, and self-trust. ______________________________________________________________________________ CALL TO ACTION ______________________________________________________________________________ You don't have to keep pushing through on your own. Therapy gives you space to slow down, make sense of what's going on, and start responding to your life differently. If something in you is saying "I need this," trust that. Schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation— no pressure, no commitment. Just a conversation to see if this feels like the right fit.
