Whether you've lost someone or something, navigated a life transition, or are carrying a weight you can't quite name, therapy can offer a place to set things down. I work with adults and couples with a specialization in grief/loss and trauma. I draw from several methods tailored to your needs; to untangle the stories and negative thoughts your mind keeps telling you (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), process and unstick deep or old wounds to stop feeling so heavy or present (EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), practice sitting with uncertainty (OCD - Exposure Response Prevention), and foster relationships that feel safe, close, and real (Emotionally Focused Therapy). Therapy with me tends to be collaborative, goal-oriented, warm, and occasionally unexpected! My goal is to get to know you, not just the symptoms you experience. We'll work at your pace, toward something that feels like yours. I accept Mainecare or private pay at my Portland office Monday - Thursday, roughly 9 am - 5 pm. I offer in-person sessions with online as a backup option. My hypoallergenic 13 y/o certified therapy dog, Sylvie, is often present in sessions (usually snoozing). I look forward to hearing from you. "So the beauty of the practice is that we can evaluate our lives even before we are on our deathbed. If we are not living the life we wish to live, how can we change that now, while there is still time?" -Ondrea Levine
