I work with adults and couples who find themselves stuck in patterns that don’t make sense — in relationships, in their emotional responses, or in how they see themselves. Often, these patterns persist despite insight, effort, and previous therapy. My approach is grounded in attachment theory and informed by EMDR, DBT, and emotionally focused work. I tend to look beneath presenting concerns to understand the underlying relational and developmental dynamics shaping them. From there, the work becomes less about managing symptoms and more about actively restructuring how you relate to yourself and others. I’m a collaborative but directive therapist. I won’t sit back and simply reflect — I will offer observations, help you make connections, and support you in working through patterns in real time. At the same time, I pay close attention to pacing and nervous system capacity so that the work remains productive rather than overwhelming. Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful, capable people who feel frustrated that insight alone hasn’t led to change. Therapy, in this context, becomes a place to move beyond understanding into something more experiential and lasting. I also bring a background in mediation, which informs my work with couples and complex relational dynamics.
