Introduction

I’m Marie Dixon, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Gaining Perspectives LLC. I began this work with a passion for helping individuals and families heal from difficult life experiences while building healthier relationships, stronger coping skills, and a greater sense of self-worth. My approach is rooted in creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to grow. I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, families, and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, family conflict, relationship challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, and stress related to parenting or major life changes. I also have experience supporting clients navigating complex family dynamics, foster care-related concerns, self-esteem struggles, and behavioral health challenges. My therapeutic style integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based approaches, supportive therapy, and person-centered care. I believe healing happens through meaningful connection, honest conversations, and learning practical strategies that clients can apply in everyday life. At Gaining Perspectives, our mission is “Promoting healing, growth and elevation, one conversation at a time.” Whether you are seeking support during a difficult season or looking to create long-term change, therapy can provide a safe place to process challenges, gain insight, and develop healthier ways of coping and moving forward.
