Hi, my name is Marissa and I am a licensed professional counselor in private practice who also worked as a middle school counselor for about 15 years. I do this work because I feel everyone deserves to have someone in their corner, to hold space for them and do the work with them. So whether you are feeling overwhelmed with life and its constant changes, looking to unpack past traumas, or move forward from a relationship and all that in between; I will provide an empathetic, welcoming and nonjudgmental space for you to feel safe enough to begin your journey into feeling like you can breathe a little easier again. I encourage clients to speak openly; to share if something is not working for them in our sessions so we can continue digging into what can help. It is a process that takes time, work and commitment to evoke change. Clients can expect to take away feeling heard and validated from our sessions. I also strive to provide clients with tools that they can utilize outside of our time together. The work does not stop when the session ends. A universal goal of mine is for all my clients to feel they can 'handle life' outside of our time together and feel equipped to access a variety of coping tools as needed.
