Hi, I’m Mariya, but most people call me Masha. It’s my Ukrainian name, and the one that has always felt most like home. I think a lot about how our experiences shape who we become. Why we react the way we do, why certain relationships bring out parts of us we don’t recognize, and why we can understand a pattern and still find ourselves repeating it. Often, there’s a reason behind the things we struggle with, even when we can’t see it yet. In our work, we’ll look at where your patterns started, which usually means looking at the relationships that shaped you. Not to assign blame, but because the way you learned to feel safe as a kid is often the thing that’s getting in your way now. I’m attachment-focused for that reason. I also use CBT and DBT, because insight alone doesn’t get you through a hard Tuesday, and you deserve tools you can actually use. I work with adults and couples carrying anxiety, depression, the weight of past trauma, big transitions, and relationships that keep hitting the same wall. I’m a first-generation Ukrainian-American, and I know firsthand how much of ourselves comes from where we started. You don’t need the right words to begin. We can start with where you are. I offer in-person therapy in Charlotte’s Elizabeth neighborhood and online throughout North Carolina, in English and Russian, as well as life, career, and wellness coaching nationwide.
