Introduction

Hello. I am Marsha Childs, LCSW. I have many years of experience in providing client-centered therapy. I am in private practice in Westlake Village, CA. I believe in providing a warm, non-judgemental space combining the unconditional support of client-centered therapy with the tools of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT looks at the relationship between our thoughts and our feelings. During sessions we collaboratively identify unhelpful thinking patterns that lead to negative emotions or problematic behavior. We then explore the evidence for these thoughts, fostering a more balanced and realistic perspective. As a certified EMDR therapist, I also welcome trauma survivors who wish to overcome the impact of trauma on their lives. EMDR is a specialized, evidence based psychotherapy used to process traumatic memories and to alleviate related painful emotions. Please reach out if you would like to schedule an appointment. I look forward to meeting you.
