Hi, I’m Mary Hawk, and I work with women and men who are navigating the complex, layered, and often emotional terrain of midlife. For over 22 years I’ve had the pleasure of meeting with children, teens, and adults. Now, however, I am focusing my practice on helping adults navigate midlife. This includes big transitions like divorce, identity shifts, caregiving, menopause, retirement, grief, reawakening. This season is often described as a “midlife crisis,” but I see it as a profound invitation. A chance to pause. To look at what’s no longer working. To gently tend to the parts of ourselves that we’ve long neglected. And to ask: What now? I know this terrain because I’ve walked it myself. I’m a mom of two (both in college) navigating menopause myself, divorced after a long marriage, and someone who’s rebuilt a life from the inside out. I’ve lived overseas, helped raise other people’s children, navigated care for my aging parents, cared deeply—sometimes to my own detriment—and found my way back to my own voice, body, and becoming. You can too. While midlife is where I most often work, I also support those in early adulthood who are navigating transformations of their own—choosing careers, forming partnerships, wondering about becoming parents, or facing other complex challenges these seasons bring. Therapy with me is warm, slow, and deeply human. I draw from a psychodynamic and relational framework, but more importantly, I bring my presence, intuition, and care into every session. I believe healing happens in relationship—in community—and that we are never meant to do this work alone. TESTIMONIALS "Mary came to me by referral from a friend. It was my first time going to a therapist. In fact, I was so nervous my first two visits, I sat in "her" chair because it was closest to the door! I mention that because Mary never said a word. She just met me where I was at. She made me feel seen. She validated my voice when I couldn't even validate if for myself. Her support ended up saving my long term marriage and my family! Forever grateful for her." Former client, female "Working with Mary has helped so much! Her kind, calming presence created a safe place for me to bring my life's challenges each week. As time passed, I realized how much I have been able to show up for myself in healthier, kinder ways and what a big difference it's made in all of my relationships, especially with myself." Former client, female "Mary Hawk should be awarded a MacArthur grant for being a genius at listening. As my therapist, she saved my life and my marriage. I wouldn't be able to feel my feelings or take care of myself today if it wasn't for her. I highly recommend her."
