Dr. Mary Madrake is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working with members of the LGBT+ community, neurodivergent clients, those in non-monogamous and alternative relationships, and clients involved in kink. Dr. Madrake has experience in a variety of settings, including schools, community mental health centers, and private practice. They provide individual and couples therapy with older children, adolescents, and adults. They have experience treating trauma, relationship issues, gender identity and sexuality, emotional and behavioral disorders, anxiety, and adjustment to a variety of life transitions. Dr. Madrake approaches therapy from a psychodynamic lens, with a focus on the impact of attachment and early relationships on later relationships with self and others. They take a collaborative, relational approach to addressing goals and integrate Adlerian and Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques when needed. Dr. Madrake is a trauma-informed practitioner and works with clients to understand the ways in which society and institutions impact mental health and wellbeing. Dr. Madrake received their doctorate degree in 2019 at Adler University in Chicago and has completed additional training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
