I am Maryehdiah (Mar) Giah I migrated to the United States in 1982 from Liberia, West Africa to pursue higher education. I obtained my graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling at Prairie View A&M. I have an MA, and I am an LPC, LPHA. licensed by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I also am a Certified Parent Trainer(CPT). I have experience working with children and adults in counseling, psychoeducation, and skills training. I meet with individuals, couples, and families. I am trained in Parenting 101, a structured program to improve the use of tools to better parent children and teens, for future parents, current parents, co-parents, and step-parents. I utilize my special training such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which helps me work with clients to change automatic negative thoughts that usually contribute and worsen emotional difficulties. I want you to know that it is important to me that you engage in therapy with me, therefore I will provide flexible hours and various methods of meeting with clients such as Telehealth and (after the practice is fully established I will meet patients in person). I realize that your efforts to meet with me indicate that you are ready to discuss whatever emotions you have been experiencing and I want you to know that I am here, and I care.
