“The shoe that fits one person pinches another; there is no recipe for living that suits all cases.” – Carl Jung, MD I believe that therapy can help people heal from the emotional and behavioral difficulties related to depression and anxiety, including relationship issues, family conflicts, and problems in the workplace. If you’re seeking help for frequently stigmatized mental disorders, or looking to break free from the shackles of childhood abuse or traumatic events like domestic violence or loss in your adult life, I will provide an empathetic, relaxed environment and work toward trust at a pace that feels appropriate for you. I am a masters level clinician with an undergraduate degree in psychology from New York University. Then I attained my graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling and Clinical Rehabilitation from Salve Regina University. Along the way, I discovered and fell in love with yoga, mindfulness, and alternative approaches to assisting people through their dark nights of the soul. I have incorporated elements of these practices along with evidence-based therapies such as DBT, CBT, Psychoanalytic, recovery-based models such as Motivational Interview to provide a novel approach that fits a client’s specific goals and personality. I emphasize a harm reduction approach that is nonjudgmental and compassionate. My time in community mental health centers, substance abuse recovery work, and passion for trauma-informed care, has provided me with a distinct perspective into how these issues manifest in diverse populations. My areas of specialty include PTSD, borderline personality disorder, ADHD, major depressive disorder, generalized/social anxiety, bipolar/schizoaffective disorders, recovery from alcohol/substance dependence and self-injury. I work with clients ages 6 and up, and provide a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals.
