Introduction

I approach therapy from an integrative perspective. I creatively weave elements and principles from evidence-based practices specifically drawing upon psychoanalysis, person-centered, and relational therapy. I also use many techniques and protocols from cognitive behavioral therapy and offer eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Through a collaborative process, I provide a personalized experience focusing on understanding and easing life's journey in relationship with self and others. I work with clients of all backgrounds and find unique connections to each. Some are gay, like me, others are straight. I have students, executives, stay-at-home parents, lawyers, doctors, nurses, therapists, ministers, and more. Clients work with me on LGBT issues, life transitions, codependency, grief, shame, relationship challenges, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, spirituality, and religion. Professionally, I am a master's level clinician with degrees in clinical mental health counseling and interpersonal communication. Previous to becoming a licensed professional counselor I worked in executive administration and human resources for two decades. In person therapy is available in Houston and I also offer services via telehealth. On a personal note, I grew up in the Texas panhandle and over the years have lived all over Texas. I'm married to my amazing husband, Alex, and we have a household full of playful and lazy dogs and cats as well as a few reptiles and fish. We love to travel, especially on cruises. Alex is an avid reader and studying to work in the funeral business as a mortician. While he reads and studies, you'll find me cooking, binge watching tv shows (from true crime to The Gilded Age). I also perusing thrift stores and spending time outdoors. Licensed to work with clients across Texas, Florida, and South Carolina. Care provided from Houston, TX. To inquire about working together, please contact me.
