While I primarily serve the gay, lesbian, and bisexual community and their allies, I welcome clients from all backgrounds. I work mainly with individuals but also accept relationship clients. Whether you're LGBTQIA+ or straight, a teacher, student, first responder, lawyer, sex worker, mechanic, therapist, or any profession, all are welcome here. I specialize in working with adults on LGBTQIA+ issues, life transitions, spirituality, grief, shame, relationship challenges, trauma, codependency, mood disorders, and anxiety. Not every situation is a perfect match, and if your needs fall outside my expertise, I will provide referrals to qualified professionals. I approach each client with compassion, aiming to help you develop fresh insights and strategies for a fulfilling life with less distress. My goal is straightforward: to help you live easier at your own pace. We often take our time, as rushing can lead to resistance. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 20 years in Human Resources, which, combined with my personal experience with mental health challenges, provides me with a unique perspective and deep empathy for my clients. My approach is trauma-informed and centered on building relationships, utilizing evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I see clients Monday through Thursday, with appointments starting at 9 am. My last session starts at 5 pm. I do not offer evening or weekend sessions. In-person appointments are available on Mondays and Wednesdays at my central Houston office near Memorial Park, while sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays are held online. I'm licensed to work with clients in Texas, Florida, and South Carolina. To find out more and see if we’d be a good fit, please request a no-cost consultation.
