We are more mysterious to ourselves than we know. But rather than explore this mystery, we tend to seek quick fixes -- diagnosis, medication, self-help, worksheets -- in order to meet the grinding demand for maximum productivity. But ignorance of the unconscious not only compromises our creativity and potential, it also results in significant pain. Our relationships suffer, our goals remain unattainable, we develop harmful habits, and we may even experience depression, anger, anxiety, and despair. Quick fixes provide temporary symptom relief, yet our deeper conflicts endure, and sometimes worsen. I work psychoanalytically to help you explore the unconscious. In a safe environment, through deep listening and asking questions, we explore your whole life, including dreams, fantasies, desires, troubling thoughts, and repetitive patterns. I assist you in speaking and feeling more freely, and support your capacity to create a fuller, more satisfying life. I affirm racial, gender, sexual, and religious diversity, and welcome anyone interested in psychoanalytic work. I also reserve a portion of my practice exclusively for working with members of the queer leather/kink/BDSM community. If this refers to you, please mention it in your introduction.
