Introduction

Matthew Schilz is the owner and psychotherapist at MindWell, LLC. Do you feel lost, stuck, or overwhelmed? Maybe you’re struggling after the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, the end of a relationship, or a traumatic experience that has shaken you to your core. Grief, loss, and trauma can leave you feeling numb, directionless, or convinced you’re doing everything wrong. My goal is to help you heal, build new skills, and develop perspectives that empower you to show up as the person you want to be. In our work together, therapy will be shaped around what you need. Some days, we may explore difficult feelings, memories, and patterns. Other days, we may not dive as deeply—and that’s okay. I value creativity and flexibility in therapy; if a song resonates with you or a movie reflects your experience, we can use that as a starting point. Healing can come from many places, and having space to process and reflect can help you redefine your life. I’ve supported survivors of domestic violence, refugees and asylum seekers, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people navigating trauma, anxiety, and hopelessness. These experiences strengthen my commitment to meeting you with compassion and curiosity. My somatic approach incorporates techniques from somatic therapy, CBT, DBT, parts work, narrative therapy, and mindfulness. I am continually learning new ways to support your healing, including training in EMDR and Parts Work.
