Introduction

I am a Licensed Marital Family Therapist Associate and Art Therapist-Provisional. I really enjoy using art and therapy to support others. I have counseled youth and families about neurodivergency, school challenges, anger, loss, depression, abandonment, sexual offending and abuse issues. I have worked with youth having a variety of diagnosis, youth had a history of gang affiliation, conduct disorder, intermittent explosive behavior, and sexual abuse. I have counseled adults on how to support their children, as well as with adjustments and stressors in life. I have completed Level 1 Training in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and I can use the Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my work. I celebrate people by honoring the many cultures around us, People of Color (POC) and LGBTQ+ individuals, and being available to support their challenges in the world. As an Art Teacher I worked in General Education and Special Education for students in Mild/Mod and Mod/Severe, Emotionally and Behaviorally Disturbed, and Alternative Education classes. I encouraged creative problem solving through discussion and art to build self-esteem, navigate life stressors, social emotional skills and to increase resilience. I am familiar with a variety of treatment methods including Art Therapy, Family Systems, Mindfulness, Emotionally Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Structured Problem Solving, Interpersonal, Social Skills Training, Communication Skills, Behavioral Activation, Motivational Interviewing, Psychosocial, Humanistic, Gestalt, and Rational Emotive therapies. I am knowledgeable and have attended numerous conferences on Autism, Art Therapy, Mari Card, Sand Tray, Trauma Informed Schools, Social Emotional programs, and Anti- Bullying. I work under the supervision of Rebecca Martin-Dean, LMHC and an Art Therapy supervisor. I offer in person and telehealth appointments. Please contact me about a 20 minute consultation to see if we might be a good fit. If your need is outside my scope of practice, I can also offer referrals that might be a better fit.
