I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 15 years of counseling experience. My target client population is teens, adults (ages 18 to 64), families, and couples. I'm a Certified Prepare Enrich Facilitator for couples therapy (Traditional and Christian approaches). I offer clients a safe space to discuss their concerns that is both non-judgmental and affirming. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is primarily used in my practice along with other therapeutic approaches to meet client-specific needs. In the initial session, we'll explore the reason for choosing therapy and determine the most appropriate ways to address the present concern. Through CBT, we'll navigate how unhealthy thought processes affect your mood and response to people, places, and situations. During follow-up sessions, we'll learn techniques to restructure unhealthy thoughts, self-regulate emotions, and improve functioning in the areas of impact. I work with clients that may be struggling with adjustment to life changing events, depression, anxiety, and trauma related to adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) or current relationships issues. Many of my clients notice a decrease in symptoms and an increase in functioning after a few active therapy sessions.
