Max received his Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University of New England, and previously received Bachelor of Science degrees in Cognitive Science and Computer Science from the University of Georgia. His neurodiversity-affirming approach is rooted in empathetic collaboration and a strong curiosity about the existential depths underlying our everyday lives. Through patient, compassionate exploration, Max helps his clients better understand and connect with their full, authentic selves. Max tailors his approach using concepts and techniques from several backgrounds, including Psychodynamic theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Existential Therapy. Using tools from these depth-oriented approaches, Max helps his clients identify areas where they are stuck in their lives–in negative thought loops, in their careers, in their intimate relationships. Through this exploration, Max collaborates with his clients to identify the obstacles that are blocking their growth and nurture the strengths that they will use to overcome their ‘stuck’ points.
