Such times can include becoming a college student, experiencing physical injury, encountering trauma, or exploring different identities. Maxwell's clinical areas of focus encompass trauma, anxiety and panic presentations, and mood disturbances. Clients facing these challenges may struggle with self-compassion, self-injurious behaviors, or feelings of sadness and depression. These folks may seek therapy because they find themselves struggling with a variety of mental health or self-esteem challenges. Maxwell's ideal client is an adult of any gender, sexual, or neurodivergent identity looking to improve their relationship with themself both generally and in the context of their mental health. Maxwell's background is heavily rooted in multicultural practice and experience with LGBTQIA+ folks. He has experience in community mental health, family work, couples work, individual therapy, and college counseling. Maxwell offers a highly compassionate, integrative, and collaborative approach to help clients find meaning and pride in themselves. Likewise, Maxwell strongly believes that a non-judgmental and welcoming relationship builds the comfort and trust all clients deserve.
