Introduction

My approach to therapy is collaborative, trauma-informed, and attachment-based. That means I partner closely with my clients to help them hold and transform painful feelings, discern what is getting in the way of living more fully and peacefully, and discover how we can create more space inside for curiosity, joy, connection, and growth. I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Pennsylvania, and the Head of Counseling Services at Franklin & Marshall College's Student Wellness Center. I was also a therapist on staff at St. John's College in Annapolis, MD. I've worked in medical and community settings in addition to my work over the past 12 years with college students. Before I went to graduate school at Bryn Mawr College's Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, I had a short career in public radio, during which I worked with Dave Isay (Storycorps) and Terry Gross (Fresh Air). Listening and creativity are at the center of all the work I've been fortunate to be able to do. I enjoy working with clients around challenges including depression, anxiety, grief, identity formation, adjustment, and relational problems. Many of my clients have survived trauma, and are transforming the way it lives inside of them. I've supervised graduate students, and developed a peer counselor training program for Deep Springs College that I facilitated over the past three years and recently helped adapt for Franklin & Marshall College. I enjoy working with teams to teach active listening skills. I am a level 2 AEDP therapist, and draw from other therapeutic approaches including CBT, mindful self-compassion, Internal Family Systems, and psychodynamic therapy. There's risk in being vulnerable with a new person. I honor the courage required to make a first appointment and begin to share one's story, and I strive to create a welcoming and compassionate space where you can feel safe and seen, exactly how and who you are in the moment. While I don't accept insurance, I am happy to provide you with documentation to use for out of network reimbursement.
