Hi, I'm Megan! Growing up in the Lowcountry, I saw firsthand the impact that military service and first responder work has on individuals and families. These professionals are on the front lines every day, and I’ve made it my goal to ensure they receive the same support they give to others. In addition to my counseling practice, I work in crisis intervention with a local law enforcement agency. That role has given me real-world insight into the daily challenges that first responders face. I understand the mindset of going from one intense scene to the next, using dark humor to cope, and pushing through without stopping to process, because the job demands it. But we all need space to be real about what we’re going through. I work with individuals struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I’ve learned that one of the most powerful ways to support someone is simply to show up -- to be steady and provide a safe space while working through the ups and downs of work and personal life. Bottling things up might work in the short term and sometimes it even feels necessary but over time, it can take a toll on you and the people you care about. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, supporting conservation efforts, petting any dog I come across, and calling people on their sh*t -- hah! Trust is one of my core values. I believe in creating a strong foundation where we both feel comfortable, understood, and able to do good work together. I received my masters degree from Clemson University. I am an LPCA and practicing clinician in South Carolina. If you're curious about whether we’d be a good fit, feel free to reach out for a free 15-minute phone consultation. I also know how unpredictable schedules can be — that’s why I offer evening and weekend sessions to better meet your needs. History behind the name... Like an oak tree, counseling offers a sense of strength and stability in the face of life’s storms. Just as the oak stands firm with its wide, grounded trunk, counseling provides a steady foundation for individuals navigating emotional challenges. Beneath the surface, the live oak’s deep, expansive roots anchor it through time and adversity, similar to how counseling encourages people to explore the roots of their experiences, helping them understand where they’ve come from and how those roots shape their present. Growth in both is not rushed; the live oak grows slowly, becoming stronger with each season, and similarly, counseling supports gradual, meaningful growth that builds resilience and inner strength over time. I look forward to working with you! Please reach out with any questions you may have.
