Introduction

Therapy can feel intimidating—especially when you’re used to holding everything together, overthinking every interaction, or feeling like you should have figured things out by now. My goal is to create a space where you don’t have to have the right words, the right answers, or a polished version of yourself. I’m a licensed mental health counselor and the owner of Threads Counseling. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, identity, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the general messiness that comes with being human. I especially enjoy working with LGBTQ+ clients and others who may have struggled to feel fully seen, understood, or accepted in traditional spaces. My approach is relational, authentic, and collaborative. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits silently across the room and occasionally asks, “How does that make you feel?” Therapy with me includes conversation, humor when it fits, curiosity, honesty, and genuine connection. I draw from person-centered therapy, CBT, trauma-informed approaches, and EMDR while tailoring our work to who you are and what you actually need. I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role isn’t to tell you who to be—it’s to help you untangle the experiences, expectations, patterns, and old stories that may be getting in the way of feeling more like yourself. At Threads Counseling, authenticity is welcomed, connection matters, and you don’t have to edit yourself before you walk through the door.
