It’s hard being human. The world asks so much of us and often pathologizes our very normal responses to things we were never meant to carry quietly or alone. It makes sense that you feel overwhelmed and anxious most of the time. It makes sense that you struggle to feel good enough. It makes sense that you keep neglecting yourself to keep the peace. It makes sense that you feel stuck in grief and trauma. Of course you want to feel less weighed down and more connected. It all makes sense – you're doing what you've always had to do to survive. And you don't have to just survive anymore. I’m Megan, and I would be honored to get to accompany you through your therapeutic process. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 12 years of experience working in substance use treatment, community mental health, and outpatient therapy. I started my private practice in 2021, where I work with adults, professionals, college students, older adolescents, and LGBTQIA+ folks to address issues from burnout, stress, life transitions, and executive dysfunction to depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma. My approach is gentle, compassionate, and deeply relational. Together, we will gently unpack your story, externalize shame, rebuild self-trust, and work through complex grief, trauma, and family of origin patterns that are keeping you stuck. I use a mix of trauma-informed care (including EMDR), CBT, humanism, and resource building to help you relearn safety and self-compassion. You’re carrying so much. You don’t have to carry it alone. If you'd like to explore working together, please reach out via email or phone for a free, 15-minute consultation to discuss what you’re looking for and schedule a first appointment. For those interested in EMDR, extended sessions are available.
