Introduction

Hi, I’m Megan! I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) with over five years of clinical counseling experience. I earned my Master of Education and Education Specialist degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clemson University in May 2021. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with adolescents and adults in both individual and group counseling settings. My counseling approach is rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life, and therapy should be a space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered to grow. I strive to create a comfortable, nonjudgmental environment where you can show up as your authentic self, explore what’s holding you back, and begin building a life that feels more aligned with who you are and who you want to become. I work with clients experiencing a variety of concerns, including trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, panic, life transitions, substance use, and relationship difficulties. My approach is primarily person-centered and strengths-based, incorporating Gestalt therapy, self-compassion practices, and creative interventions to support self-awareness, healing, and personal growth. I believe therapy doesn’t have to look the same for everyone, so I enjoy incorporating creativity, art, nature, and other meaningful experiences into the therapeutic process when appropriate. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy through EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs and have incorporated EMDR into my practice since 2023. I enjoy using EMDR to help clients process difficult experiences, work through deeply rooted negative beliefs, and develop a more compassionate and empowering relationship with themselves. Ultimately, my goal is to meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you reconnect with your strengths, discover new possibilities, and create meaningful change. Therapy is a collaborative journey, and I believe healing can be both challenging and deeply rewarding. I look forward to creating a space where you feel comfortable exploring, growing, and becoming the most authentic version of yourself.
