Introduction

*Accepting New Clients for Telehealth Services* There is great strength in asking for support during difficult seasons of life. My work focuses closely on supporting women during pregnancy/postpartum and early parenting years who are experiencing increased stress, depression, anxiety, panic, and relationship challenges. You may feel stressed or burned out from working, caring for children, or feel overwhelmed with daily stressors and managing the parenting load. Feelings of guilt, irritability/anger, grief, and loneliness/isolation can also be present. In addition to perinatal mental health, I also support women experiencing heightened anxiety or panic, sleep difficulties, or stress associated with various life transitions (e.g., school/college challenges, work roles, relationships). Therapy sessions can provide a designated space in the week to talk openly about your thoughts and feelings in a validating, non-judgmental environment, and where you can receive support and strategies to help you cope. I sincerely look forward to having an opportunity to talk with you and support your therapy goals. ~Meghan Hammel, PhD Services and Fees Fees: $165 initial/follow-up session (Sliding scale options are available to help make services more affordable.) Appointment Times: Monday-Friday (9AM-2PM) Insurance: I am not able to accept insurance directly for services. I am considered an "out-of-network" provider for all insurance carriers. Please call your insurance company and ask about their policy on out of network behavioral health care. You will want to know the amount of your deductible and what percentage of behavioral health services they will reimburse to you. You will be responsible to pay for your session in full at the time of service, and I can provide you with an itemized bill each month (called a "superbill") for you to submit to your insurance carrier to request reimbursement for services. What to Expect Teletherapy services are offered via SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant, video-conference platform. After scheduling your intake appointment, you will receive an email with prompts to complete the intake forms and questionnaires online. Intake Session Treatment begins by completing an initial diagnostic evaluation. The intake assessment process typically takes between one to two visits (each lasting 50-60 minutes). A comprehensive evaluation allows me to better understand you and determine the best treatment plan to help you reach your goals. Follow-up Sessions Individual therapy sessions typically last 50 minutes. We may meet weekly in the beginning of therapy and reduce how often we meet over time as you progress in treatment. If you are unable to attend your session, please notify me at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time to avoid a cancellation fee. Education and Training Prior to opening my private practice, I worked at UC San Diego Health, Women's Reproductive Mental Health Program, providing therapy to women with Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs). Services included providing CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and self-compassion strategies in individual and group settings. I am also a certified facilitator of the Circle of Security® Parenting™ program that helps foster security and connection in parent-child relationships. I truly value and enjoy introducing the COS-P curriculum to mothers seeking added support for their parenting efforts. I completed my PhD in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University, San Diego. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at St. Vincent de Paul Village where I worked with women and children and became passionate about attachment theory and early intervention. I completed my post-doctoral fellowship at UCSD Medical Center where I provided CBT and ACT therapy services to individuals with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, sleep problems, and weight management concerns. STANDARD NOTICE “Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges” Under the No Surprises Act You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call Meghan C. Hammel, PhD at (760) 266-7430.
