Hi, I’m Meg, a University of Chicago trained licensed clinical social worker in the states of Illinois, New York, Texas and the District of Columbia. I work with clients to reduce symptoms associated with mood concerns including anxiety and depression and/or the effects of challenges in adult life. I help to build coping skills and strategies, strengthen communication techniques, and manage complicated relationship dynamics. I see you as the expert on your life and want to help you deepen your understanding of your feelings, your relationship to yourself and others, and to meet your goals. Making the decision to seek therapy and finding the right provider for yourself are big steps on the path to intentional change. I do not take for granted the meaning a therapeutic relationship can hold and see the work as a privilege. Like any healthy relationship, the therapeutic connection must be rooted in trust. I hope to earn that trust with you by creating a nonjudgemental space where we can be present, honest and engaged in our sessions. I think you will find, while working with me, a feeling that I truly enjoy, and have energy for our work together. I use a collaborative, insight oriented and solution focused approach to treatment. You can expect warmth, empathy, humor when appropriate and open, relational dialogue. I am committed to culturally responsive and trauma informed care. I love seeing clients feeling stronger, healthier and more empowered after attending therapy.
