Introduction

My name is Melanie Danielowicz and I have been working as a mental health and substance use therapist for 16 years. I have a history working for a non-profit community mental health center as well as an agency and wanted to provide specialized services to help meet the needs of the community. I have joined with the other practitioners at Renaissance Mind and Body with the hopes of providing a range of services to help our clients holistically find strength. My love for therapy began when I worked as a crisis counselor and that combined with my love of teaching put me on the path to becoming a licensed counselor. For the first few years, I provided services exclusively to children and their parents to help with overcoming behavioral challenges and assist with the development of healthy parenting skills. I then transitioned to helping clients, both adults and children/adolescents, process trauma and overcome mental health struggles and addiction issues. I am local to this area and am a graduate of Brooks High School ('89) and the University of North Alabama ('03) & ('10). I have been married for 33 years and have three adult children. I also love animals and currently have 4 dogs and two cats. My hobbies include cooking, painting, watching Alabama football, and spending time with my family and friends. I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet with you and begin the journey. Contact me to get started today!
