I am Melinda Barbour-Word, a retired USAF Major, wife of 31 years, and mother of five thriving young adults. Now a dedicated therapist, I bring a wealth of experience and empathy to my counseling practice. With a foundation in Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Counseling, I furthered my education at Marymount University, earning a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My academic accomplishments are matched by a profound personal journey, including 21.5 years of service in the USAF, the challenges and rewards of being a foster and adoptive mother, and a deep understanding of addiction’s impact on families. I am committed to partnering with you on your journey to self-discovery and healing.
