Hello - I'm glad you're here. I'd like to start by acknowledging your courage to explore therapy. Life is a journey and sometimes we need a guide to help us process information. That is what therapy can be. Therapy can be a safe place where we can work together to identify challenges and seek to understand them. My story began in Iowa where I grew up and attended college. I graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. I worked for several years working with parents and children and then in hospice as a medical social worker. During this time, I returned to school to get my Masters at University of Iowa, graduating in 2006. I worked for a few years at an outpatient mental health clinic before taking some time off to raise my 2 beautiful children. I returned to clinical work in 2018 and have worked in various clinical settings, having the privilege of sitting with others, listening and working to understand different parts of self (IFS - Internal Family Systems). Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family - husband, 2 children and extended family. Faith is a central part of my life and I also enjoy spending time outside enjoying nature, time with my 2 dogs and cats, going for walks and gardening.
