Melissa “Meli” Albarenga, ASW (she/her/ella) is a bilingual therapist working with young adults, first-generation individuals, and parents and caregivers navigating anxiety, life transitions, and the pressure of holding everything together for everyone else. If you look like you have it together but your mind never shuts off, or you are the first in your family to figure out college, work, and adulthood on your own, Meli gets it. Therapy with her feels less like a formal appointment and more like a real conversation. She skips the jargon, asks a lot of questions, and listens before she says anything back. She draws on CBT, ACT, and attachment-informed care, and her favorite saying is “Raíces para crecer, alas para volar,” roots to grow, wings to fly. Meli sees clients in English and Spanish, in person in Berkeley and Walnut Creek and by telehealth across California. She is an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW #139567), supervised by Adriana Martínez, LCSW #75597.
