Introduction

Melissa Cederquist is the owner and psychotherapist at Cederquist Counseling. She specializes in helping adults navigate the two areas that shape their lives most: careers and relationships. Many of her clients describe feeling “stuck,” overwhelmed by change, or caught in cycles of overthinking… even when life looks objectively fine from the outside. Her ideal client may wonder if things are “bad enough” for therapy, yet they are navigating big life transitions and want a thoughtful, focused space to explore what these changes mean for them. Whether you’re questioning your career path, moving through burnout, building a business, or longing for deeper connection and clarity in your relationships, Melissa offers a thoughtful space to explore who you are and who you’re becoming. Her style is warm, relational, and collaborative. Clients often share that they feel deeply seen and supported in her presence. Melissa blends research-informed approaches with intuitive insight to help you make sense of your patterns, rewrite old narratives, and reconnect with your inner wisdom. She views therapy as a long-term, intermittent relationship you can return to during life’s transitions, not a lifelong weekly commitment. Before becoming a therapist, Melissa spent nearly a decade in public relations within the travel and wellness industries, a chapter that strengthened her skills in attuned listening, storytelling, and understanding the complexities of the human experience. Melissa holds a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Northern Colorado, where she graduated summa cum laude. She draws inspiration from Jung, Rogers, Frankl, Yalom, and Perel as she helps clients create lives rooted in purpose, meaning, and authentic alignment.
