Melissa is a Licensed Master Social Worker who provides individual therapy primarily to children and adolescents, as well as adult veterans and active-duty service members. She earned her BA in Psychology and Educational Studies from Belmont Abbey College and her Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia. Melissa is especially passionate about helping children and teens build emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, identity development, peer relationships, school stress, and life transitions. She creates a supportive and collaborative space where young clients feel safe, heard, and empowered to grow. She also works with adult veterans and active-duty military members experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and stress-related concerns (including PTSD), substance use and recovery needs, and military transition challenges. Melissa understands the unique stressors of military service and reintegration and provides trauma-informed care tailored to each client’s developmental stage and life experience. Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, she helps clients build practical coping skills, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful, sustainable change. Melissa provides individual counseling for children and adolescents (ages 8–18), with openness to adult veterans and active-duty military members
