Clinical Psychologist Melissa F. Symington, Ph.D.
Specialties: Anxiety, Depression, Couples Counseling, Grief, Life Transitions,

Introduction

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and sex therapist with a deep commitment to integrative, whole-person care. My work is grounded in clinical training that brings together mindfulness, neuroscience, psychological assessment, and relational and sex therapy. I specialize in working with adults—individuals and couples—around issues related to intimacy, sexuality, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, grief, and connection. At the heart of my practice is a belief in healing, growth, and the possibility of deeper, more authentic relationships—with ourselves and with others. In addition to my private practice, I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy at Fuller Theological Seminary. I bring over two decades of clinical experience into the classroom, along with a passion for teaching, mentoring, and training future therapists. I care deeply about the integration of psychology, spirituality, and culture—and about creating spaces for transformation, curiosity, and connection. Outside of therapy and teaching, I enjoy writing, speaking, and developing curriculum that supports therapists, leaders, and communities in meaningful, embodied work.
