Introduction
Melissa loves to help people grow in confidence and find joy. She is especially passionate about advocating for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and learning differences. She has worked with parents for over 8 years to help them traverse the obstacles that come with having a child with a disability. She has worked with schools and professionals to help students' voices be heard through their individual plans. Melissa has experience working in a community clinic supporting individuals with chronic health conditions, anxiety, grief, depression and trauma. She also has worked with teens and adults in an outpatient substance use clinic. She believes that everyone has value and can become the person they envision for themselves. Melissa recognizes that everyone's experiences are different and unique, and enjoys exploring how thoughts and feelings connect with the world around us. Melissa is a straightforward therapist with high energy. She works to help her clients make tangible progress at a pace that they are comfortable with. Melissa grew up in Arizona and has also lived in Utah and Maryland. She and her family have lived in Texas for 7 years and enjoy camping, movies, family and game nights.
