Imagine waking up everyday and genuinely feeling good about yourself, your life, your choices and your future. Although you may not feel this way right now - I promise you, it is 100% attainable. As a clinical social worker with a concentration on mental health and substance use disorder, I often work with people who have been caught up in the grips of despair and sometimes the horrors of addiction. It has been a blessing to witness the transformation that occurs when someone is ready to surrender and begin to heal. Over my career I've worked in numerous settings; including substance abuse, child welfare, forensics, trauma and mental health treatment. What I've learned is that we are all more alike than different and at the end of the day we all want/need the same things: love, hope, safety, understanding and to know it's ok to not be "ok" sometimes. My hope is to help others who have been in despair and don't see a way out. I truly believe that if there is "breath" there is always "HOPE". My approach is to meet you where you are and allow YOU to decide what your treatment goals look like. I've worked people who are thought to be 'lost causes' and together, we have proved the doubters wrong! Everyone has strengths - no matter what we've been 'programmed to believe'. In therapy, we will focus on those things that are 'right' as opposed to the 'wrong'. As human beings, we all struggle and sometimes the things we use to 'cope' become unhealthy outlets. During our work together I help individuals find the 'root' of the problems and learn new, healthy ways to cope.
