I'm Melissa Hawkins, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals and families on their journey toward healing and growth. My work is rooted in helping clients discover and build upon their inner strengths as they navigate life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment-related challenges. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to each individual’s needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Whether you're facing new challenges or working through long-standing struggles, my goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where meaningful change can happen. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University in 2014 and my Bachelor’s degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services from Iowa State University in 2010 (Go Cyclones!). Over the years, I’ve worked in a wide range of clinical settings and have had the privilege of serving individuals from all walks of life. In 2023, I opened my private practice to continue my mission of helping individuals and families reach their personal goals and thrive. No matter where you are in your journey, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion, respect, and evidence-based care.
