My name is Melissa Luna and I am a bilingual and multi-state licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with a deep-seated passion for mental health and well-being. Over the past decade, I've been honored to work in behavioral health, supporting children, adults, and families on their journeys toward healing and growth. My journey into the mental health field is deeply rooted in family and service. With a family history of military service, I developed a strong sense of connection toward supporting those who serve. As a military spouse, that connection deepened, and I became more passionate about my training to ensure I am able to address a wide range of concerns that one might experience. This has also solidified my commitment to trauma-informed, compassionate care that honors each person's story. My Approach & Intake Process: When you first reach out, we will schedule a brief virtual consultation to make sure we’re a good fit and answer any initial questions you may have. From there, we’ll set up your first intake session, where I’ll get to know more about your background, goals, and what's bringing you to therapy. This session is focused on creating a safe, collaborative space where you can feel heard and understood. Working Together: I tailor each session to your needs, blending evidence-based practices with a strong focus on building trust and insight. Progress in therapy doesn’t always look linear, but over time you can expect to gain more clarity, feel more grounded, and develop practical tools for navigating life’s challenges. My Therapeutic Approaches: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Assisting individuals in understanding the links between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to promote healthier patterns. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-Insomnia (CBT-I): Implementing strategic therapies to improve sleep patterns and promote restful nights. Prolonged Exposure (PE): Aiding individuals in overcoming trauma and PTSD by helping them confront and gradually reduce their fear. Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT): Strengthening relationships and resolving conflicts through empathy and acceptance strategies. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-Children (CBT-C): Helping young minds navigate their feelings and reactions to foster healthier responses.
