Started with Harris County MHMRA, as a Therapist then as Assistant Director of the children's clinic and as Clinic Supervisor. LaterWorked as Consultant for Burnett-Bayland Home (affiliated with the Juvenile Probation) providing psychological services for the interns and their families. For this work was nominated as The Young Professional of the Year. Served as consultant for the Harris County Health Department - HIV Division, assessing the bilingual programs. Worked for Human Affairs International where she developed her skills as an EAP (Employee Assistant Program) counselor providing evaluations and therapy for the employees of the client companies and their families. For over ten years has led a group of spiritual support emphasizing in metaphysical teachings. I have been in private practice since 1995 offering private counseling to individuals, couples and families. Mercedes is a member of the American Counseling Association and ICSF (International Critical Stress Foundation) where she provides assistance to companies and the communities after critical incidents or catastrophes. She has led groups of women development, developing her holistic theory emphasizing the balance between spirit - mind - body.
