Introduction
I'm Michael Brooks, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Vacaville. I work with adults and couples healing from trauma, anxiety, and the strain that builds in relationships over time. My approach is grounded and practical. With trauma, I draw heavily on Forward Facing Trauma Therapy: we spend real time building safety and stability in your body and mind before processing anything painful and only go there once you're steady and ready. I'll also teach you how trauma works in the brain and body, because understanding your own reactions takes much of the shame and mystery out of them. I bring a direct, steady presence shaped by my own life and military service. After years of sitting with people through the hardest things they've faced, very little rattles me — and that's the point. Whatever you're carrying, I've likely sat with something like it before, and I'm not going anywhere. Sessions are warm, collaborative, and judgment-free. The goal isn't just short-term relief — it's lasting steadiness, stronger connection, and getting your life back.
