I’m Michael, an IADC-credentialed substance use counselor who believes recovery should be practical, honest, and yours—not a script. My approach is harm-reduction forward, trauma-informed, and deeply person-centered. We’ll cut the jargon, map what’s actually happening in your day-to-day, and build skills you can use when things get loud—cravings, anxiety, grief, messy relationships, court stuff, all of it. I lead Roots to Recovery Collective (Level 1 outpatient + OWI evaluations), supervise peer services at The Center—Love in Action in Davenport, and serve as a case manager at Eagle View Behavioral Health. I work a lot with folks navigating co-occurring mental health, early recovery, relapse risk, probation requirements, and housing instability. Methods I pull from: Motivational Interviewing, CBT tools, SMART Recovery, WRAP planning, and straight-up problem-solving that respects your reality. Queer-affirming, sex-positive, and stigma-free. Bring your whole story. We’ll set clear goals, track progress, and adjust fast when life throws curveballs. If you need a counselor who tells the truth, listens hard, and fights for next steps—you’re in the right place.
