Introduction

I have a Doctoral degree in Medical Science with a Psychiatry concentration I practice as a Physician Associate and carry a board certification in Psychiatry. What this translates to, besides a lot of letters after my name, is that I have extensive training in mental health. I spent 10 years working in family practice and women's health before switching to psychiatry, and have been doing this for an additional 8 years. I was a police dispatcher and paramedic before going to PA school. Having a medical background makes me better equipped for patients who have physical needs as well as and emotional ones. My primary focus is evaluation and medication management. However, I believe in the mind/body/spirit connection that even the best medication needs supportive therapy. Therefore, I also use CBT and mindfulness therapy to treat anxiety, depression and trauma. Self awareness helps you recognize triggers & reactions; Emotional expression- what you feel and when; Self worth- how it leads to self destructive patterns; Guilt and other forms of negative but powerful thoughts. Together we'll help you become the best version of yourself. I offer free 15 min consults as I know how important it is to have a good fit with your provider and vice versa.
