Introduction

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Rhode Island, providing individual psychotherapy via telehealth on a HIPAA compliant virtual platform. I specialize in working with young adults ages 18-30 and students attending to the demands of college or graduate school. I believe that this time period is critical to identity formation and establishing healthy skills, habits, and narratives for life while also presenting many specific developmental challenges around independence, career choice, intimate relationships, and exploration of values. I most often work with individuals who are struggling with adjustment and life stage transitions, anxiety, depression, identity concerns, relationships, stress management, and previous trauma. My approach is collaborative and integrative, which is flexible enough to vary and evolve based on needs. In addition to emerging adulthood, I am committed to the experience of art and design students, with my research focused on their unique emotional and interpersonal experiences. I am interested in the use of creative outlets for managing and communicating emotions and the connection of mindfulness practices to well-being and to the arts. The fit between therapist and client is essential to creating space to be open and vulnerable, to allow reflection, and to permit personal growth. It is one of the most important factors for treatment outcomes. I hope that in your search for a therapist, you find someone with whom you feel comfortable, connected, and supported. About Me: I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from William James College (formerly the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology). I earned a BA in Studio Art and Spanish from Bucknell University and a masters in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I have held a number of positions within college and university settings including working as a Staff Psychologist at Roger Williams University, serving as the Associate Director and Academic Advisor for the Brown|RISD Dual Degree Program, and working in Residence Life at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). I previously trained in the DBT Womens Partial Hospital Program at Butler Hospital. I currently work as a psychotherapist in Counseling and Psychological Services at Brown University and volunteer with my dog, Willow, as a pet- assisted therapy team. In addition to emerging adulthood, I am committed to the experience of art and design students, with my research focused on their unique emotional and interpersonal experiences. I am interested in the use of creative outlets for managing and communicating emotions and the connection of mindfulness practices to well-being and to the arts.
