Introduction

Sometimes you've been carrying things for so long that you've almost forgotten what it feels like not to. You may be navigating the effects of trauma, struggling with anxiety or emotional overwhelm, experiencing challenges in your relationships, or simply realizing that the ways you've learned to survive are no longer helping you live the life you want. I'm Michelle Lloyd, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 25 years of experience in the helping profession and currently providing virtual therapy for clients throughout Florida and Puerto Rico. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of walking alongside people through some of life's most difficult experiences—including trauma, domestic violence, relationship changes, mental health challenges, family difficulties, homelessness, immigration experiences, and major life transitions. My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and holistic. I believe you are more than a diagnosis or a collection of symptoms. Together, we'll explore not only what has happened to you, but also the strengths, wisdom, and resilience you've developed along the way. I draw from evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, strength-based therapy, mindfulness, and other integrative practices. As a devoted yoga practitioner, I also value the connection between the mind and body and may incorporate mindfulness and body-based practices when they support your healing. I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples, families, and people from diverse cultural backgrounds, including members of the LGBTQ+ community. I strive to create a space where all parts of your identity and experience are welcomed, respected, and understood. Therapy doesn't have to be another place where you're expected to have everything together. It can be the place where you finally get to put some of it down. Whether you're working through past trauma, trying to reconnect with yourself, navigating challenges in your relationships, or simply knowing that something in your life needs to change, we can begin there. You don't have to know exactly where the journey will lead. You just have to be willing to take the next step.
