My name is Michi, and an easy way to remember how to say it is that it rhymes with "fishy". I'm an immigrant, originally from Toronto by way of London, and Oklahoma has been home for over 20 years. I still say "trousers" and "loo" like a Brit, and "sorry" like a Canadian. I work with people living with chronic illness and chronic pain, LGBTQIA+ folks, OCD, and anyone carrying the aftermath of a loved one's alcoholism. I know these from the inside. I live with chronic illness myself; I grew up as a child of alcoholism, and like my bird, the phoenix, I've risen from the ashes more than once and come back more fiery each time. I also work with tweens, teens, and young adults, as well as caregivers who carry the world on their shoulders and are at their breaking point. Sessions with me are never cold or clinical. I inject humor and fun, because it can't always be heavy, and I want you to leave feeling uplifted even when we dive into difficult conversations. We're partners: I find the things you love and weave them into our work. I'm affirming, accepting, and person-centered, and individuality and self-expression matter deeply to me. I promise I will listen to you. I know what it's like not to be heard, to be called weird, to be put down for being yourself. Fellow weirdos, shy folks still finding their voice, anyone who struggles to fit in: you're my people. Still a punk at heart, I believe creative expression is therapeutic, and animals are healing. Schedule a consultation and let's talk.
